This 2022 is off to a roaring start and we are anticipating some significant changes for both workers and employers.
For employees, the opening of phase one 2021 Residency Visa applications has been brought forward to next week Monday 21 February. Don’t miss out! If you have a Skilled Migrant Category EOI in the pool, which you submitted on or before 29 September 2021, you are eligible to apply for the 2021 Resident Visa early.
Not ready with your application or still unsure of how this applies to you? Get in touch with me and the Explore Immigration team now and we can work through your application process together.
For employers, this means it is more important than ever to make sure that you are ready and up to date with immigration requirements for your staff and business. Remember to hire staff on temporary work visas; all employers must be accredited by July 2022.
Do you know what employers must commit to as part of their accreditation? All employers who intend to hire migrant workers on the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) must meet standard requirements and commitments. Different employer accreditation levels depend on how many AEWV holders you wish to employ. Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has mapped out three steps to the AEWV process – Accreditation, the job check and the migrant check.
Find out more about each step and what you need to commit to via the INZ website here.
